  • Lead Recruiter

    Respawn Entertainment is seeking a strong, experienced Lead Recruiter to drive recruiting efforts. Help us hire the best developer talent!

    Responsibilities:

    • Work with management and department leads to determine company hiring needs. Manage all things related to recruiting and hiring.
    • Drive recruiting strategies to source and attract high quality talent.
    • Active networking. Build network of contacts through social media, groups, industry events, etc.

  • Software Engineer

    Write programming code for video game development using C and C++. Design, schedule and implement game application and engine software features that meet established art, design, and animation team requirements. Revise complex software code to implement game feature changes while maintaining consistent application performance. Perform coding and data optimization improving both memory consumption and execution speed. Fix complex code errors.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent*, in Computer Science, or in a related field.
    • Two (2) years of work experience as a Software Engineer, Programmer, or in a related occupation
    Require experience in the following areas:

    • C++
    • 3D math skills

  • Technical Artist

    Respawn is looking for a Technical Artist who will provide support to the art team and act as a gateway between code and art. The Technical Artist will work on features from an artist’s perspective in regards to both in game needs and tools workflow. The Technical Artist will perform research, test, and develop a test bed for tools before they reach main production so the production artists can move fast and implement assets according to schedule.

    Responsibilities:

    • Research, test and develop new art pipelines/tools
    • Improve usability and efficiency for existing art pipelines/tools
    • Provide support to artists and engineers in regard to asset performance and validation
    • Document pipeline and tools development processes to help educate artists and engineers in the use of the 3D art pipeline
    • Collaborate with engineering to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve in-game bugs associated with art as issues arise during implementation of tools and pipeline
    Requirements:

    • Portfolio that demonstrates relevant tech art experience in games (tools, pipelines, etc).
    • 3+ years of tech artist experience.
    • In-depth expertise on relevant 3D and 2D software packages. Demonstrable strong understanding of relevant tools and technology.
    • Strong understanding of game engines and art integration.
    • Be able to talk about R&D, how you evaluate and test new software for use in development.
    • Strong understanding of pipelines and how to optimize them.

  • UX Designer – (Titanfall)

    Respawn is looking for a UX Designer who will create the user interface and experience for our players. Create the “flow” to help guide players through attractive but clear menus and options to create a seamless, easy to navigate gaming experience.

    The Role:

    • Be the visionary of user interface. Design the best pathways to help guide players through menus and options easily.
    • Work closely with all disciplines - code, art, design, audio, animation, fx - to create optimal UI/UX. Take initiative to get things done.
    • Be forward thinking & proactive in terms of finding ways to improve the design of the game’s UI across the board with minimal direction.
    • Play the game we’re working on frequently and know it thoroughly throughout its development.
    • You will create and iterate on UI mockups for the whole game.
    • Embody pragmatic game development values – values prioritization and making hard tradeoffs and choices. Respawn’s core value is to put gameplay first.
    • Serve as the expert advocate for improving the design of the UI toolset & workflow.
    • Ideally you can also fill the role of a UI Artist (graphic design, motion graphics), although this is not a strict requirement.

  • Senior Systems Designer – (Unannounced Title)

    This position will be on the team that is creating a new 3rd person action/adventure IP. Respawn is seeking a Senior Systems Designer to embrace and contribute to the project vision, specifically in the areas of hero control/mechanics, enemy design, AI behaviors, combat/weapons, class design, skills/progression, story, and boss encounters. Responsibilities:

    • Work with the design leadership, design team, artists, code, audio, and animation to deliver design systems that epitomize the creative vision of the game.
    • Research subject matter relating to the design objective in an effort to ensure the authenticity of the experience.
    • You will be expected to own design systems from conception to the final stages of polish, facilitating communication and coordinating departments to ensure the vision is clearly understood.
    • Be a positive influence on the entire team and as a designer, evangelize the ultimate promise to deliver “fun”.
    • Proactively seek out opportunities to identify and deal with issues before they arise.

    • Experience in rapid prototyping to test feasibility of concepts.

    • Expert game design sensibilities, including a superior grasp of timing and instincts of what feels right.
    • Demonstrates a deep understanding of gameplay systems and mechanics, able to pro/con design decisions and the ramifications they will have on the overall experience.

  • Server Software Engineer – (Titanfall)

    As we work on a new game, we're looking for talented engineers to join us to work on the next generation of our game servers and backend servers to expand it to be better, smarter, and do more. Titanfall uses a custom backend that we've developed to do everything from manage our cloud-based servers to running our custom matchmaking, custom skill system, user authentication, and game telemetry. We currently use this not just to keep the game working, but also to work on improving both the quality and speed of the matchmaking and the game experience. Our game servers are all C++, and our backend servers are a mix of Python, LUA, and PHP. The game servers interact with our backend mostly through a RESTful system to talk to web frontends running nginx. We want to do even more with our custom backend, and we need great engineers to help us get there. Responsibilities:

    • Work with a small team of smart engineers in expanding and improving our servers for our next game
    • Expand our telemetry with feedback systems to collect and analyze data about the game and the servers that run it
    • Improve our game server management, skill system, and matchmaking systems
    • Design and implement new features for the project
    Requirements:
    • A desire to ship great games

  • Technical Animator – (Unannounced Title)

    Respawn Entertainment is looking for enthusiastic Technical Animator to join our team. This position will be on the team that is creating a new 3rd person action/adventure IP. The Technical Animator will be responsible for helping to maintain an efficient pipeline, building tools, and working closely with the animation and 3D art teams. Responsibilities:

    • Rigging and skinning of characters and props.
    • Developing and maintaining pipelines, tools, and processes.

    Respawn is looking for a VFX Artist to join our team.  This position is available for both our Titanfall team and our team that is working on a new 3rd person action/adventure IP. Responsibilities:
